Data:
One person in our group made a tally mark for each penny that the toilet paper could hold.
We used a spring scale to weigh all the pennies that the toilet paper could hold.

Answer:
The answer to our question "What is the strongest toilet paper?" is that Jazmin is the strongest. Three squares of paper held 86 pennies that weighed 228 grams when it broke. We think that when we are older and are shopping, we will buy Jazmin toilet paper if it is not too expensive.

Problems:
There could have been some problems with the experiment.
  • Ms Primmett could have put more water on some papers.
  • The kids might have forgot to tally one of the pennies. We should have double checked.
  • Sometimes our elastic band wasn't good and the paper slipped.

High School Musical Baseball Party

The kids earned their second reward for in-class English language usage this year. A "High School Musical Baseball Party"!!! I'm a bit of a baseball player myself and I was REALLY impressed by how well they knew the game and could hit. Ms Anny was an awesome pitcher and Ms Lenna was our official cheerleader. Super fun!


Tension was in the air.

Our Venezuela!

Our Venezuela! was a class book that we created in January full of paintings and facts, in English and Spanish. The inspiration for these paintings were postcards that the students chose. These paintings are laminated and will go home with the students at the end of the year. Enjoy!

What a Mess!!!

Those Lucky Leprechauns came to visit on Tuesday while we were at Computers. The day before the students made an invitation for them to come to a "Gold and Money Party" on Tuesday at 11:00am and it was to be hosted by Super Rich Gold Kids. Certainly leprechauns could not refuse this invitation!



They came to our class and they really left a mess! We think they were looking for some gold but did not find any. They left candies on the table and moved our chairs, backpacks and folders all over the place! They left little yellow (washable) marks on our folders and our posters in class. They found our "3 Wishes" shamrocks and put their yellow marks on them too! When we were cleaning up we found coins in our backpacks.

The students had designed some "traps" so we could look at one of them. These are some of our designs...

This trap had a door that would fall down if the Leprechaun went inside. I guess they did go inside because we found coins and this note!



Maybe next year we will see one! I hope they don't make such a mess in Grade Two!!!

Read Across CIC

Our class had the pleasure of reading with CIC Grade 8 students on Dr. Seuss's birthday. We showed them how we use Kid Pix and together we made a picture for a part of Dr. Seuss's book called "Fox in Socks". After, we watched some of the Fox in Socks videos on YouTube and played some Dr. Seuss games with our new friends. Thank you to all the Grade 8s who helped us so, so much!
